Bringing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives into the Classroom: No Excuses

overview

Teachers and educators often report being nervous or fearful to teach about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures. These activities aim to address some of the concerns that might arise during curriculum planning, with the hope of building confidence around bringing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the classroom.

This activity is based on an article and conference presentation by Wiradjuri teacher Cara Shipp (based in Canberra).
