Reconciliation Projects

12 schools and early learning services have added this Action to their RAP.

Collaborate across the school or early learning service and with members of the community on projects that visibly and authentically embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures in learning programs and the physical environment. This will create an environment where young people, staff and community members acknowledge and respect the First Australians.

This RAP Action is a great chance to bring the whole school or early learning service together to collaborate on a large scale and promote reconciliation across the school community. Reconciliation projects can be shared learning experiences for all children, students and staff and create a sense of pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures.

Projects that create a shared resource with longevity will support ongoing cultural change in the school or early learning service. Examples include an outdoor yarning circle, a street art mural, fire pit or school reconciliation song.
