The NRW 2023 theme, ‘Be a Voice for Generations’, calls on all Australians to act today to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation. By actively listening to the voices and aspirations of First Nations peoples, school leaders and teachers can use their voices and actions to drive change within their educational communities.  

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Held from 27 May to 3 June each year, the dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 Referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

Tied to the broader Celebrate National Reconciliation Week RAP Action, our NRW resources can be explored to support your school or early learning service with practical ways to bring the 2023 theme into classrooms/learning environments, and the community.

About the NRW 2023 Artwork and Poster

The NRW 2023 visuals are a vibrant call to action to use your power, your words and your vote to create a better, more just Australia for all of us. 

The designs incorporate artworks by Danielle Leedie Gray, a graphic artist and designer and Bidjara and Wakka Wakka woman of south west and east Queensland, Australia.
