Using a short Ninti One film as a stimulus, students develop an understanding of 'doing business Aboriginal way' so as to be able to constructively compare non-Indigenous and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business attitudes, approaches and aspirations.

Students use Supply Nation’s Indigenous Business Direct search tool to locate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses that could be used to procure goods and services relevant to the implementation of their school’s RAP initiatives or general business.

Students research and draft a budget to enable successful implementation of one of their school’s RAP Actions, or a reconciliation project they are working on. In doing so, they will also articulate the non-monetary opportunities, gains and investments generated through the implementation of reconciliation activities.

Students examine schools’ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment strategies and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of these strategies. Students think critically about the features of a strong employment strategy, and consider potential updates and inclusions.

By exploring some of the Our Mob Teach Profiles published by MATSITI, students think about what they may be able to learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and appreciate the importance of increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in education environments.
